Pernet held a Thank You reception for funding for building upgrades and security. This was a big success! We had the City Manager Ed Augustus, Mark Fuller of the Fuller Foundation, Mayor Joe Petty, City Councilor Sarai Rivera, Chris O’Keeffe from the Greater Worcester Community Foundation, Brian Sullivan from Commerce Bank, United Way representatives, community members, the Little Sisters of the Assumption, the Pernet Board of Directors, Pernet staff and volunteers. It was a nice event to thank our funders and the vendors who completed the projects. Tours were available to view the projects and the new security cameras were viewed on the large TV in the conference room.
Every three years the Massachusetts Department of Public Health conducts an unannounced survey on the quality of Pernet’s Nursing Program. As we were planning our “Thank You” reception for City Manager Ed Augustus and the Fuller Foundation, the DPH surveyors walked in. We have to drop everything and take them on Nursing visits and produce documents for their inspection for these surveys. They were here for two days and finished right before the reception. Pernet passed with flying colors. We are in compliance with all quality measures and deficiency-free! Joan Perna, RN gets the credit for well-organized records and good nursing practice
