Joel has 17 years of experience in the nonprofit field, developing youth programming, leading community collaborations, and helping drive communities in achieving measurable outcomes.   He graduated from Cedarville University with a degree in Pastoral Studies, holds a Master’s degree in Nonprofit Management from DePaul University, and has two certificates from Notre Dame University in non-profit business. Outside of Pernet, Joel sits on the City of Worcester Community Development Advisory Committee, is an adjunct professor at Dean College, coaches at the Jesse Burkett Little League, and volunteers at The Journey Community Church.

Joel and his wife Jackie have been married for 16 years and they have two sons: Deacon and Justus.  In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family and camping.  Joel and Jackie also enjoy traveling and have a marital goal of visiting a new country every year.  Joel spent part of his childhood growing up in Germany and got the travel bug at a young age.
